Before Rory took his place as Captain Rip Hunter the “Time Master” in DC’s Legends of The following day, he used to be and eternally will be Rory Williams from Doctor Who. Rory joined the 5th series as the companion to the Eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith). Rory used to be introduced in the “The Eleventh Hour” episode in 2010 as a nurse in a coma ward. Rory later travels with Amy and The Doctor as a traveling companion and became Amy Pond’s fiance. Through these travels, he proved to be a hero in his own right. As the series progressed, Rory is shot dead by a Silurian after saving the Doctor and then absorbed by a crack in time and space, erasing him from existence and from Amy’s memory. Rory later appears in the “The Pandorica Opens”, as a Roman soldier in 102 C.E., but is revealed to be an Auton with Rory’s memories. Rory attempts to fight his Auton programming, but unwillingly shoots Amy. In the Series 5 finale episode, “The Big Bang”, the duplicate Rory preserves Amy in stasis the use of a futuristic prison referred to as the Pandorica, then voluntarily watching over her for just about two millennia. He becomes referred to as the “Last Centurion”, guarding the Pandorica, and Amy, wherever it’s taken. The Auton Rory assists the Doctor, Amy, and River Song (Alex Kingston) in saving the universe from the explosion that caused the cracks in time. Restored to his original human timeline but still possessing memories of his Auton existence, Rory marries Amy. The couple continue traveling with the Doctor, who allows them time for a honeymoon. They’re said to still be on their honeymoon in both The Sarah Jane Adventures serial “Death of the Doctor” and the Christmas special “A Christmas Carol”.
